Quantway and Statway FAQ

Review answers to commonly asked questions.

How do my students enroll and obtain access to my Quantway/Statway class? Is there a document that provides an overview of course set up and reminders of key processes as detailed in the training course? How do I interpret a unit’s Learning Map? How can I check student assignment history? How can I check student answers? What do I do if I have an instructional question? What do I do if I have a content or technical question?

How do I report a content error or suggest a revision? What is an Orientation Session?
  • These are full class synchronous sessions through Week 1 where you and students will use the Full Class Collaboration unit to join the meeting. How do I join a student group Collaboration session? You can do this by launching into the relevant course unit, and clicking into the collaboration node. You can then click the Join meeting button for the subgroup you wish to join.
Can I remove content (e.g. questions) from Preparation, Collaborations, and/or Exercises?
  • Content customization is not possible at this grain size. You do have control over which units you use in your course, however.
How do I administer module exams and the summative assessment?
  • Module exams and summative assessment are administered through your LMS. Go to the MyPathway Resources page to access and review available resources.
Where can I find supplemental videos or other resources to use in my class? Some questions have hints behind a green “Hint” button, while others have hints behind a “?” button. Why?
  • If a part in a multi-part question has a hint, it will be behind a ? button aligned to that question part; in standard questions (non-multi-part) that have a hint, the hint will be behind a green Hint button.
A student is describing their work as “lost” or that they cannot see answers entered previously.
  • Assignment behavior in RealizeIt operates on attempts; that is, answers entered during one attempt do not carry into the next attempt. However, if a student uses the Exit>Save for Next Time process, that attempt remains open and they can resume their engagement. If a student fully completes an assignment (clicking the Close/Finish button until they see an on-screen message stating that data has been recorded), clicks Exit>Discard progress, or just closes their browser or browser tab, then the next time they go into the assignment, it will be a fresh attempt. Both instructor and students can check interaction with assignments in History and/or Questions.

On my Learning Map for a particular unit, if I click a student name on the right, I see smaller nodes/icons on the map. What do these mean?
  • These only display when you click a student name on the right when on a unit’s Learning Map. They represent the class aggregate for the unit, allowing easy comparison between a single student and then entire class in terms of unit performance/completion.
  • Learning Map Explained (Instructor)
How can I talk about the Learning Map to my students? How will I know when a student subgroup has completed a Collaboration session?
  • Typically, student subgroups will be in communication with the instructor regarding Collaboration session completion. Upon notification, you can click into the Collaboration session node from the Learning Map, and you’ll see a Meeting Recordings button on the subgroup tile.
